Amtrak Desert Wind
Train #35 & 36

Photographs, travelogues, accommodations, and other information about train travel on the Amtrak Desert Wind.

Note: The Amtrak Desert Wind was discontinued in 1997 so that enough equipment could be made available to run the Amtrak California Zephyr in daily service. However, plans are in the works to resume service between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. New Talgo trains are currently under construction and funds have been allocated to improve the track and travel time between these two cities.
